Proposal
The idea for my final reenactment project is to use the intro from the hit television series, The Sopranos. I find how this introduction is film quite interesting, and I also enjoy how the song goes quite well and is very appropriate. The intro to the show has Tony Soprano driving home on the New Jersey Turnpike, and the camera is taping the surroundings on the way home. The idea that I had was to have myself driving home from Temple and the route that I take. I would also have the surroundings and famous landmarks along the way. I would not use the same song as in The Sopranos. Instead I was thinking of having an instrumental song that would be my own. I would try arrange a musical composition that would have a rough emotional feel same as how the original song gives to the actual intro. The main connection I think would be the whole idea of the Italian Mafia, and organized crime and how it is so closely related to the Philadelphia area. Considering it being so close I find it to be a fascinating subject. There is an intimidation that is sensed in the original opening, and it will be interesting to see if the reenactment will have a similar feel to it.
